Monsters & Dames: Slow Day in the Labyrinth on Flickr.
My piece for the “Monsters and Dames” book, a themed collected of art by exhibitors at the 2012 Emerald City Comicon.
Many contributions involve super-sexy ladies being menaced, so I tried for a slightly sweeter and more oblique take.
I don’t know how to feel.
I DON’T … KNOW HOW… TO FEEL.
Chocolate-Sriracha Shortbread Cookies (via erinwyso). Recipe here.
Once the sriracha-chocolate has cooled, it can be rolled into a small ball and sandwiched in between two layers of rich and buttery shortbread cookies. A liberal sprinkle of large crystal salt at the end balances all of the flavors perfectly.
I’ve been listening to the recordings of the memorial for Steve Jobs that Apple had last week. If I had been eight years old and told I’d smile and cry a little bit hearing Norah Jones and Coldplay sing romantic love songs to the dead soul of a multinational CEO, I’d have been ashamed. But the thing, is, they’re sincere. They’re not lying, or doing a publicity stunt.
Love may make us do ugly things sometimes, it may make us think ugly thoughts, it may make us ignore ugly things we should be paying attention to, but the love itself is always, always, always beautiful.
